Thirty-one teams entered the Essex County Girls Volleyball Tournament. The top fourteen are assured spots in the main draw’s First Round. On Saturday fourteen schools competed to advance through the “Play In” bracket to secure one of the two remaining berths in the main draw.

Lacordaire (20) defeated Irvington (29)
Newark Tech (21) defeated Technology (28)
Science Park (22) defeated North Star Academy (27)
East Orange Campus (19) defeated Arts (30)
Orange (26) defeated University (23)
Columbia (18) defeated Newark Collegiate (31)
The competition continues in the second preliminary round which must be completed by Tuesday, October 18th.
