The Preliminary Round of the Essex County Field Hockey Tournament was played on Thursday with Livingston (7) and Caldwell (9) advancing.
Livingston edged past Mt St Dominic (10) and now travels to play Verona (6) on Saturday.
It took overtime for Caldwell to get past Columbia (8). Caldwell will face Glen Ridge (5) at their field on Saturday. These two games represent the tournament’s First Round.
The third and fourth seeds, MKA and Millburn await the winners in the quarterfinals while Montclair and West Essex, the top two seeds have “byes” to the semifinals.
