Teams are advancing through the “Play In” Rounds of the Essex County Baseball and Softball Tournaments. Their goal is to become the 15th or 16th seed in the First Round of the main tournament draw to be played next weekend.

In Softball, Belleville has advanced winning over Barringer, who had previously beaten Science Park.

Belleville will play Glen Ridge who advanced over Irvington. The winner will be slotted into the tournament’s 16th seed.

Also advancing in Softball is East Side who defeated Technology, who had previously prevailed over Arts. East Side will play  Bloomfield Tech, victor over East Orange. The 15th seed will be awarded to the team coming out of this bracket.

In Baseball, Cedar Grove will play East Side. The 16th seed will be given to the team coming through victorious after next Thursday’s “Play In” completion.

On the other side of the draw Barringer lost to West Essex while Science Park was beaten by Bloomfield Tech. The West Essex versus Bloomfield Tech winner will get seeded at number 15.
