The Preliminary Round has been completed and the pairings for Friday’s First Round of the Greater Newark Tournament are set. The First Round will be played this Friday, May 5th, at the higher seed.
Six teams advanced from the preliminaries to gain entrance into the main draw.
Newark Academy (16) defeated Newark Tech and now faces top seeded Millburn.
Verona (15) won over East Side, will travel to Seton Hall Prep (2).
Cedar Grove (14) eliminated Shabazz and will be hosted by Livingston (3).
Belleville (13) moved past Technology and is tasked to play at Montclair (4).
Glen Ridge (12) played past Science Park and is scheduled against Caldwell (5)
MKA (11) was victorious over Orange and goes to Bloomfield (6) on Friday.
the remaining two games are Columbia (9) at Nutley (8) and
West Orange (10) at West Essex (7).
