On a beautiful, dry afternoon at Doc Goeltz Field in Verona the Championship Round contenders of the 2013 Greater Newark Tournament were determined. In the first game of the semifinal doubleheader Montclair defeated this year’s “wonder team” from Montclair Kimberley Academy, the 17th overall seed, to advance to the final round. The second game saw the pirates of Seton Hall Prep stymie Caldwell’s offense and win their semifinal match-up. This brings the third seeded Montclair Mounties to face top seeded Seton Hall in the finals of the Greater Newark Tournament. The championship game is scheduled for 3pm on Sunday, May 19th at Bears and Eagles Riverfront Stadium in Newark.
