The 2016 Essex County Field Hockey Tournament was seeded on Monday evening. Nine teams have entered this year’s tournament which is scheduled to begin this weekend. On Saturday 7th seeded Columbia travels to Montclair Kimberley Academy, seeded 6th, to start off the First Round. Awaiting the winner is Mt St Dominic Academy, (3),  with that Quarterfinal contest to be played on or by Wednesday, October 5th. Saturday has two other First Round games scheduled. Newark Academy (9) plays at Glen Ridge (4) while Livingston (8) faces Millburn (5). The winners of these two games will play at the higher seed by October 5th in the Quarterfinal.

Awaiting the outcome of the Quarterfinals are the top two seeds.  West Essex is seeded first and Montclair is seeded second. They are scheduled to compete in the Semifinals on Saturday, October 8th at their home fields. The Championship Final is scheduled for the following Saturday, October 15th at Montclair.
