Top seeded East Side struggled from behind until the fourth period before moving past a spirited Montclair Immaculate squad at Tuesday evening’s Essex County Boys Basketball first semifinal game. East Side edged past Immaculate, seeded fourth, by a score of 59-56.
The second game of the semifinal doubleheader saw West Side (2) fight off an early rush by sixth seeded Columbia before taking command in a 67-43 victory.

The two Newark teams will face off at Essex County College on Saturday at 3pm in the Championship Final. The boys game shall be played as the second game of a doubleheader with the County Girls Basketball Championship Final which tips off at 1pm. General admission tickets for the doubleheader will be $10 and sold only at the door. Only current ECADA passes will be accepted.
