The coaches’ seeding meeting for the 2014 Essex County Girls Tennis Tournament was held Thursday evening at Newark Academy. Eighteen teams have entered this year’s competition set to start Tuesday morning at the Althea Gibson Tennis Center in Branch Brook Park. Millburn, seeded #1 shall play the winner of a preliminary contest between Orange (16) and Irvington (17). Newark Academy is seeded 2nd and awaits the winner of a match between Belleville (15) and East Orange (18). The remaining First Round matches pits Nutley (14) against MKA (3), Cedar Grove (13) versus Livingston (4), Caldwell (12) and Glen Ridge (5), Columbia (11) against West Essex (6), West Orange (10) playing Verona (7) and Mt St Dominic (9) versus Montclair (8).

The preliminaries, First Round and Quarterfinals shall be competed on Tuesday beginning at 8am. The Semifinals and Finals are set for Saturday, September 20th also at the Althea Gibson Center.
