The coaches’ Seeding Committees for the 2015 Essex County Boys Basketball and Girls Basketball Tournaments met Wednesday night at Glen Ridge High School. The seedings and brackets became official at noon on Thursday. In the boys’ tournament 35 teams entered. The top ten seeds earn “byes” to the First Round which is scheduled for Saturday, January 31st. The remaining 25 teams enter the “Play In” bracket which will determine the 6 slots in the First Round. The bracket for the Play In bracket has a 1st Preliminary Round game between Technology (34) and Belleville(35). There will then be 12 2nd Preliminary Round games to be played on or by Tuesday, January 27th. The 3rd, and last, Preliminary Round is scheduled to be completed on or by Thursday, January 29th.

In the girls tournament 32 teams will vie for the championship. The two Preliminary Rounds should be completed by Tuesday, January 27 and Thursday, January 29. The First Round, as with the boys tournament, has the top ten seeds now bracketed and is set for Saturday, January 31st.
