As the top seed, West Essex, and second seed, Montclair, waited with early round byes, seven other teams vied to be their semifinal opponents in the Essex County Field Hockey Tournament.  Out of that mixed emerged Montclair Kimberley Academy, the 4th seed, who matched up against West Essex and the fourth semifinalist Millburn, seeded 6th, who faced Montclair.

By identical 3-0 scores at the semifinals played on Saturday the favorites emerged as finalists for the Essex County Field Hockey Tournament. It will be Montclair (2) versus West Essex (1) for the championship.

The Final will be played Saturday, October 17th,, 2:30pm at West Essex.
