The Greater Newark Tournament, as the Essex County Baseball Tournament is historically know, has completed it’s rain delayed First Round. Here’s the results;

Verona (9) defeated Bloomfield (8)

West Orange (10) won over Livingston (7)

Newark Academy (6) moved past Belleville (11)

Montclair Kimberley (12) upset Columbia (5)

Montclair (4) was victorious over Caldwell (13)

Nutley (3) advanced over Glen Ridge (14)

Millburn (2) turned back West Essex (15)

Seton Hall Prep (1) vanquished Cedar Grove (16)

The tournament now advances to the Quarterfinal Round which is to be played on or by Thursday, May 12th. The Semifinals are scheduled for Saturday, at Belleville. Games are planned for 11am and 3pm.
