High School softball fans will be thrilled to see Essex County Softball played at the newly renovated, state of the art field at Ivy Hill Park this spring. The field serves as the site of the Essex County Softball Tournament’s semifinals and final as well as being the home diamond for Seton Hall University’s team. The 2016 county tournament is scheduled to begin on April 28th at the higher seeded team’s field, run through early rounds on April 30th, May 5th, 7th and 14th. The semifinals at Ivy Hill are scheduled for Friday evening, May 20th and the championship final set for the following day, Saturday, May 21st. Last season 32 teams participated in the Essex County Softball Tournament.
