On Friday, October 24, The Essex County Cross Country Championships were won by the Millburn girls’ team and the Columbia boys at Cedar Grove Park.
On Saturday, West Essex Regional won its 14th consecutive Field Hockey tournament in a win over Montclair Kimberley Academy at Montclair’s field.
On Monday evening the finals of the Essex County Girls Volleyball Tournament were set as top seeded Verona eliminated West Essex, followed by Livingston, the third seed, moving past second seeded Millburn. The championship match is set for Wednesday evening, 6pm at Livingston HS.
The Boys Soccer Tournament held its semifinal round on Monday evening. It saw St Benedict’s Prep (1) win over Seton Hall Prep (4) and then, in the second game, West Orange (2) was victorious over Montclair Kimberley Academy (3). This sets up the championship contest scheduled, weather permitting, for Thursday, 5pm at Caldwell HS.
In the Girls Soccer Tournament, it was number one seed Mt St Dominic Academy winning over Montclair (4) and then, in the nightcap, Livingston (2) defeating Verona (3). The girl’s championship is scheduled as the second game of the doubleheader at Caldwell HS, 7pm on Thursday.
Note: If the soccer doubleheader needs to be rescheduled due to inclement weather the games shall be played on Saturday, November 1.
