The Millburn Boys Tennis Team took home the championship trophy of the 2017 Essex County Tournament completed on Sunday. Millburn last won the tournament in 2012. The event was played at the Althea Gibson Tennis Center in Branch Brook Park over two days.
The two Semifinal Round matches were both heart-stoppers with Millburn edging Newark Academy 3 matches to 2 while Montclair, the other finalist got by a tough Livingston squad by the same score.
In the Final it was Montclair winning at first doubles and Millburn winning all three singles matches and second doubles in a 4-1 victory.
