The finalists for the 2013 Essex County Boys Soccer Tournament could not be determined in regulation time. With 30 seconds left in overtime Montclair, the 2nd seed, broke a 1-1 tie with Livingston, seeded 3rd, to propel themselves into the championship game. It took penalty kicks, after the 2 ten minute overtime periods, to catapult Millburn, seeded 4th, past top-seeded Seton Hall Prep in the semifinal nightcap. Millburn outscored The Prep 4-2 in an exciting climax to earn the opportunity to play for the County crown.
The final is scheduled for Saturday, October 26th, 5pm at Livingston High School. It will be the first game of the Essex County Boy-Girl Championship Doubleheader.
