The Preliminary Rounds of the Essex County Baseball Tournament, also know as the Greater Newark Tournament, have been completed and the First Round of the main draw is set to go.
With Cedar Grove capturing the 15th seed, by virtue of its win over Bloomfield Tech and Belleville winning the 16th seed by defeating Glen Ridge, the main draw is complete. Weather, however looms as a factor in this Saturday’s scheduled games. With wet field a strong possibility teams may be moving their games to Sunday or Monday.
