The 2014 Essex County Softball Tournament completed it’s Quarterfinal Round on Sunday when Mt St Dominic Academy (2) defeated Montclair (10) by a score of 2-0. Early in the weekend it was Cedar Grove (9) upsetting the top seeded Livingston Lancers, Nutley (4) moving past Verona (12) and Caldwell stunning 3rd seeded West Essex. The semifinal and final rounds now move to Ivy Hill Park on the campus of Seton Hall University. The semifinals will be held Friday evening, 6 and 8 pm scheduled starts and the final, Saturday at 7 pm.
In the GNT baseball Semifinals held on Sunday at Verona it was Seton Hall Prep defeating West Essex while Cedar Grove won over Caldwell. The GNT final will be played at Bears & Eagles Riverfront Stadium in Newark on Saturday. Game time to be announced.
