Newark Academy fought off match points at several positions and reversed the momentum to gain a hard fought 4-1 match victory over Millburn in the finals of the 2013 Essex County Boys Tennis Tournament. Earlier in the day the semifinals followed the tournament’s seeding with Newark Academy (2) winning over Livingston (3) by a 4-1 match score while Millburn eliminated Montclair 5-0. If true be told it looked early on in the finals that Millburn was on it’s way to victory with leads at second singles and first doubles. However, despite match points against them Newark Academy was able to regain its footing and reversed fortune to come away with the Championship.
