The Essex County Boys, and Girls Basketball Tournaments have set their main draws and initiated their First Round Games. On Thursday the Preliminary Rounds were completed in order to set the 16 team fields for the tournaments.
Here’s where we are…
Girls Tournament
University (1) defeated Newark Academy (17) in the First Round.
Livingston (9) will play West Essex (8), Sat at noon.
Glen Ridge (12) lost to West Orange (5) in the First Round.
Arts (13) faces Nutley (4) at 3pm Sat.
Verona (18) goes to East Orange Campus (2), 1pm Sat.
Columbia (10) travels to Payne Tech for an 11am game on Sat.
Caldwell (6) hosts Central (11) Sat at 2pm
Mt St Dominic Academy (19) plays Immaculate Conception (3) at 11:30am Sat.
Boys Tournament
All games on Saturday unless noted differently.
Immaculate Conception (1) hosts North Star Academy, 1pm
Irvington (2) hosts Orange (15) Friday evening at 7.
Seton Hall Prep (3) will play Montclair (14), 2pm
West Orange (13) travels to East Orange Campus for a 3pm game
Belleville (21) faces Central (5) at 1pm
Columbia (6) hosts West Side (11), 2pm
East Side (7) is home to Newark Tech (10) at 2pm
Its University (9) versus Payne Tech (8) at 1pm
